We took a break from bikepacking and me and the youngest went for a two-day boatpacking and camping paddle in our homebuilt tandem kayak on Flaming Gorge. This is a huge reservoir near the Utah/Wyoming border, set in some truly stunning scenery.
- The front hatch holds a lot of gear. Much easier to pack than a bike.
- Packing things back up for Day Two
- My boat finish looks pretty good from here.
- Shameless product shots. I am sponsored by my wallet.
- View from camp
- Kingfisher campground- off-season so no dock.
- Sun, beer, water, sand
- At the Sheep Creek boat ramp, loaded up and ready to float. Well, already floating.
- Boat on car. Car go.
- Every trip starts in the gear closet. So much possibility in there.
- Day Two- Started from the camp on Kingfisher Island, looped Horseshoe Canyon then paddled back to the Sheep Creek Boat Ramp.
- Day one on the water. We paddled over to check out the Hideout Canyon boat-in campground- really sweet, closed this time of year. Then an upwind paddle to Kingfisher Island.
- At the Sheep Creek boat ramp, loaded up and ready to float. Well, already floating.
